Petal Perfume – Lilac Lady

With lilac fused in perfect proportion with the luxuriant botanicals of jasmine, ylang, chamomile, lavender, black-currant and sandalwood, lilac is able to unfold herself to the senses, embracing the air with a subtle sensuality. Brimming with floral waxes, Lilac flower’s effulgent aroma is elusive and has been difficult to capture through steam distillation. Traditionally, lilac fragrance was created by picking only the warmest blossoms that had bloomed in the morning sun. The flowers would then be rushed to a still-room where they were saturated in oil using a process known as enfleurage. This process created an incredibly thick, odorous perfume that was further diluted with refined alcohols like vodka. Jasmine grandiflorum is distilled from the dewy-dawn petals of Indian Poet’s Jasmine.
